Furious Kawempe South Member of Parliament and opposition firebrand Mubarak Munyagwa has turned against his own FDC party and abused its leaders whom he said have betrayed the country.
Referring to the recently announced shadow cabinet by the Leader of Opposition in Parliament Winnie Kiiza, Munyagwa said the move was an act of stabbing in the back by the FDC party leaders in parliament.
“Since March we have been alleging that President Museveni rigged the elections and telling the country that Dr. Kizza Besigye was the outright winner. We conducted weekly prayers at the FDC party headquarters where some members shed tears,” the furious Munyagwa said.
“We have been cursing Museveni as one who rigged the elections and praying to God to punish him. What has now changed that we have contradicted ourselves to form the shadow cabinet? ”
The firebrand FDC legislator said it was not necessary to appoint a shadow cabinet adding that the act is an indication the opposition has been hoodwinking the public concerning the February presidential elections.
Munyagwa said it is no longer right for the opposition to claim that the elections were rigged adding that President Museveni has now been exonerated of any wrong doing .
“How can a pregnant woman claim to be a virgin? A Sheikh cannot at the same time claim to be a church priest. You told Ugandans that you won elections but what has now changed! It is a contradiction yourselves.I have now exonerated President Museveni of any wrong doing.”
Museveni genuine leader
The furious legislator said that by the look of things Uganda no longer has opposition adding that President Museveni is now the outright leader of the country.
“There is no more opposition here, may be Besigye. Let president Museveni create more ministries for these fellows (opposition MPs) and they join his government. They are only interested in selfish ends.”
“ Why did we curse President Museveni at Najjanankumbi? Why did we lie to Ugandas? I want to warn Hon. Winnie Kiiza never to call me for any opposition meetings at parliament because I cannot be part of this foolery.”
When asked to comment on whether his anger does not stem on missing out on a post in the shadow cabinet, Munyagwa said he has informed the party president Mugisha Muntu in advance that he cannot be part of such foolery.
On whether he doesn’t fear being thrown out of the FDC party, Munyagwa said if anyone wishes to do so, they are free.
