President Museveni has urged residents of Kagadi to rise above tribal, religious and ethnic sentiments and strive for unity in diversity as a means of promoting peace, unity, prosperity and development.
Museveni used many proverbs to sensitize residents at different rallies held Wednesday at Kagadi Model Primary School in Kagadi Town Council and St. Peter Simon Catholic grounds in Kyaterekera sub-county.
Museveni gave the example of the recruitment of UPDF soldiers which he said is not always based on tribal, religious, ethnic or economic background but “values, discipline and physical fitness.”
He assured residents of government’s commitment to extend power to most sub-counties of Buyaga West.
Museveni asked voters to support NRM flag-bearers Steven Byaruhanga Mfashingabo for LCV seat and Jenifer Mbabazi for Woman MP in the upcoming elections in the newly-created Kagadi District.
The President is advising residents to improve their house hold incomes by rearing domestic birds, cows, and goats in addition to joining Saccos.
On the same function Finance Minister Matia Kasaija said construction of Mubende-Kakumiro-Kagadi road as well as Kigumba-Hoima-Kabwoya-Kagadi-Kyenjojo is also ongoing .
Buyaga West MP Barnabas Tinkasiimire appreciated President Museveni for fulfilling his pledges of boosting infrastructural development in the region.
